Hello there, welcome to Turnarounds Podcast, a show where we document some of the most amazing team performance U turns across sectors, geography, and perhaps decades. My name is Tudor. I'm the podcast host, and I'm recording this quick trailer and sharing it in both video and audio format to answer some of the basic questions that someone who discovers a new podcast might have. And those questions are: First, who cares? Who is this podcast for?
Tudor Tarlev:Number two, what is it about? What's the format? What can you expect in terms of conversations, topics, and so on? And number three, what's next? What comes after this trailer?
Tudor Tarlev:So let's take them one by one. Who cares? The short answer is I created this podcast for anyone working with other humans in teams, especially those dealing with scaling challenges or working in fast moving organizations where the topic of performance or results, it's under a lot of pressure. The other answer to this, this is a show for me as a way to educate myself and also do it in a public fashion, sharing all the insights, the experience, the struggles out there with the community as the podcast is growing. Why I'm doing this?
Tudor Tarlev:Well, for the last sixteen years, I led a bit of a double professional life. On one hand, as an entrepreneur, launching various ventures, working with teams across geographies and sectors, the questions around how to best bring people together to achieve results fast, under pressure, with limited resources. It's always a fascinating one. On the other hand, I wear the shoes of a facilitator first as a contractor, then as part of a multinational based in in Netherlands, where I facilitated high performance teams and leadership development, you name it. And you can see the same patterns of people come together, strategies, sessions, and align, but still the results don't really follow through in a sustainable way.
Tudor Tarlev:So I was looking for a resource. Where can I learn more about this and see how it can be done in a better way, especially when a team is facing kind of a collapse or a chaos and how to bring the team back to a state where they can perform at a high level, enjoy themselves, and have a blast building the next solution for their customer? And what I could find was mostly US centric and and very narrow view of team performance. That's why I decided to widen a bit the scope and invite guests who were behind some of the amazing team performance turnarounds, but did it also in sports, in arts, and in civic sector, and also go beyond US. So look at other countries.
Tudor Tarlev:As long as we can have a conversation in English, I'm open to interview anyone who's done amazing work around team performance. So that's the long answer to who cares. It's an educational project for me, but I hope there'll be a lot of value for anyone working in teams or leading teams and looking at the topic of performance with a fresh perspective. Second question, what is it about? I kind of alluded to it already, but this is an interview format podcast.
Tudor Tarlev:Every interview is a specific guest with a story around their turnaround and that transformation, and we will dive deep really what happened, what led to a certain situation, how did they change things, lessons learned, insights, tools, and so on, and everything will be published. What's next? Well, this is a trailer. It's just a quick recording to share that the the podcast is coming, the format, what is who is this for, and what you can do right now to engage with the podcast. So first of all, once this trailer goes online, the podcast will also be available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, you name it.
Tudor Tarlev:Go in your favorite tab, find the turnarounds show and subscribe. This way, whenever we launch new episodes, full length episodes, you can be the first to find out and to listen to those conversations. Second, as I mentioned, I'm building it a bit of a as a open educational project. And for that reason, I'm also building a backstage community, which means people who are fascinated about the topic can join and support the show. And in that space, we will have private Q and A's with some of the guests.
Tudor Tarlev:Whatever resource we find that is valuable from the podcast will first be published to the community on Substack. That's where we host the turnarounds backstage and we'll do some really valuable, exciting things with the community more about that to come soon. Third action. If you really know someone. We are fascinated by someone behind an amazing turnaround.
Tudor Tarlev:Please use the form shared in the description below to give their name, contact details if you have, and I will do my best to reach out as quickly as possible and record and or plan a recording session in the coming weeks or months. That's it. Thank you for listening in. Thank you for subscribing to the podcast. I will see you in the next episodes.
Tudor Tarlev:And some of you, I will see you in the backstage community. All the best. Cheers.
